Overview
With this integration, you can send contact details to Kit, organize subscribers based on their webinar activity, and use webinar specific information to create targeted email sequences and automated follow ups.
This guide walks you through connecting your Kit account, selecting a form, and configuring tag and custom field mappings for your webinars.
What Can You Do With the Kit Integration?
EasyWebinar's native Kit integration allows you to pass relevant webinar information to Kit, including:
Contact information
Name
Email address
Phone number
Behavior based tags
Registered for a webinar
Attended a webinar
Missed a webinar
Watched the webinar replay
Left the webinar early
Clicked a button or offer
Custom field values
Webinar title
Webinar join link
Webinar replay link
Other supported custom field values
By syncing this information with Kit, you can segment your subscribers and build more relevant email marketing campaigns based on their webinar registration and engagement.
Connecting Kit to EasyWebinar
Before you begin, make sure you have access to both your EasyWebinar and Kit accounts. We recommend keeping both platforms open in separate browser tabs so you can easily switch between them during setup.
Obtain Your Kit API Credentials
To establish the connection, you will need your Kit API key and API secret key.
Log in to your Kit account.
Navigate to Settings.
Open the Developer section.
Locate your API key and API secret key.
Copy both credentials so you can enter them into EasyWebinar.
Keep your API credentials secure and do not share them publicly.
Connect Your Accounts
Once you have your API credentials:
Log in to EasyWebinar and navigate to Integrations in the left hand toolbar.
Locate Kit in the list of available integrations.
Click Connect to begin the setup.
Enter your Kit API key and API secret key in the designated fields.
Click Connect to authorize the integration.
EasyWebinar will display a confirmation or connection status once the integration is successful.
Once your accounts are connected, you can configure Kit for individual webinars.
Configure Kit for Your Webinar
After connecting your accounts, navigate to the Webinars section in EasyWebinar and select the webinar you want to configure.
Open the webinar's Integrations section and select Kit.
Here, you can choose the Kit form that should receive the relevant lead and registration information.
For example, if you want to send registrant details to a form called Demo Form, select that form from the available options. Once you have selected the appropriate form, you can configure tag and custom field mappings.
Important: Make sure you select the correct Kit form for your intended audience and email marketing workflow.
Mapping Tags Based on Webinar Activity
Tags allow you to organize subscribers in Kit according to their actions and engagement with your webinars. These tags can then be used to trigger email sequences, segment subscribers, and personalize follow up campaigns.
Before configuring tag mappings, create the required tags in Kit. Once they exist in Kit, you can map them to the corresponding webinar events in EasyWebinar.
Example: Tag Registrants Automatically
To apply a tag when someone registers for your webinar:
Open the Kit integration settings for your webinar.
Under Event, select Registered.
Under Action, select Add Tag.
Under Value, select the corresponding tag you created in Kit.
Click Add Mapping to save the configuration.
For example, you could create a Webinar Registered tag in Kit and map it to the Registered event in EasyWebinar.
This allows you to identify subscribers who have registered for the webinar and use that information in your Kit workflows.
Example: Tag Attendees
You can also apply tags based on whether a subscriber attended your webinar.
For example, create a Webinar Attended tag in Kit and map it to the attendance event in EasyWebinar.
Select the relevant event, choose Add Tag as the action, select the appropriate Kit tag, and click Add Mapping.
This helps you distinguish attendees from people who registered but did not attend.
Additional Behavior Based Tagging Options
EasyWebinar supports additional event triggers that help you segment subscribers according to their webinar activity.
Depending on the triggers available for your webinar, you can configure mappings for events such as:
Registered: Identify people who signed up for your webinar.
Attended: Identify people who joined the webinar.
Missed Webinar: Identify registrants who did not attend.
Watched Replay: Identify people who watched the replay.
Left Early: Identify attendees who left before the session ended.
Clicked a Button or Offer: Identify people who clicked a supported button or offer.
For each event, select the appropriate trigger, choose Add Tag, select the corresponding Kit tag, and save the mapping.
You can create multiple mappings for the same webinar to capture different types of subscriber engagement.
Why Use Behavior Based Tags?
Behavior based tagging helps you send more relevant emails to your audience.
For example:
Send a replay email to subscribers who missed the live webinar.
Share additional resources with people who attended.
Create a targeted follow up campaign for subscribers who clicked an offer.
Segment replay viewers for future promotions or educational content.
Once the tags are synced with Kit, you can use them to build workflows and automations within Kit based on your marketing strategy.
Mapping Custom Fields
In addition to tags, EasyWebinar allows you to map supported webinar information to custom fields in Kit.
Custom fields help you store specific information about a subscriber or their webinar registration. This data can then be used in supported workflows and automations.
Before creating custom field mappings, make sure the corresponding custom fields exist in Kit.
How to Configure Custom Field Mappings
Open the Kit integration settings for your selected webinar in EasyWebinar.
Navigate to the custom field mapping section.
Select the EasyWebinar value you want to pass, such as the webinar title.
Choose the corresponding custom field in Kit.
Save the mapping.
For example, if you want to send the webinar title to Kit, select the webinar title value in EasyWebinar and map it to the appropriate custom field in Kit.
Examples of Custom Fields You Can Map
Depending on the available fields and integration capabilities, you can map values such as:
EasyWebinar value | How you can use it |
Webinar Title | Identify the webinar associated with the subscriber |
Webinar Join Link | Include the relevant webinar access link in supported communications |
Webinar Replay Link | Send subscribers to the appropriate replay |
Other Supported Custom Values | Store additional webinar information for use in your workflows |
These mappings help you pass webinar specific information to Kit, making it easier to personalize your communications and automate follow up activities.
Using Webinar Data in Kit Automations
Once your tags and custom fields are mapped, you can use the synced information to build more targeted workflows in Kit.
For example, you could create an automation that sends a follow up email to subscribers who have the Webinar Attended tag, or a separate sequence for those tagged as Watched Replay.
You can also use supported custom field values to personalize communications or provide relevant webinar details. The exact automation options depend on the triggers, tags, fields, and personalization features available in your Kit account.
Best Practices for a Successful Integration
To ensure your integration works as expected, keep the following recommendations in mind:
Create tags and custom fields in Kit first. They must exist before you can map them in EasyWebinar.
Select the correct Kit form. Confirm that the selected form matches your intended audience and workflow.
Use descriptive tag names. Names such as
Webinar Registered,Webinar Attended, andWatched Replaymake subscriber segmentation easier.Map only the fields you need. Focus on the information that supports your marketing and follow up strategy.
Test your configuration. Where possible, complete a test registration and verify that the expected contact information and tags appear in Kit.
Conclusion
The native Kit integration helps you connect webinar registration and engagement data with your email marketing activities. By mapping contact information, behavior based tags, and custom fields, you can reduce manual work, organize your subscribers, and create more personalized follow up campaigns.
Once the integration is configured, you can use the information sent from EasyWebinar to build workflows in Kit that better reflect how your audience interacts with your webinars.
