Installing The Wordpress Plugin as an optional publishing option
Installing The Wordpress Plugin as an optional publishing option
Updated over a week ago

As an option you can select to use the wordpress plugin on your own site / server. There are limitations to using the plugin when compared to the hosted version on your subdomain easywebinar.live. Currently not all features are in the plugin as these require a controlled environment and quite frankly we have no control of your site / server / hosting account. With that said.

First off not all servers are the same and therefore may cause conflicts with your plugin.. What you need for optimal success is a hosting plan that gives you cpanel access to have control over some settings but not all providers grant full access unless you have a vps or dedicated server. One thing is certain is that if you have a managed or optimized wordpress solution it will come with uncontrollable setting that the provider will not lift for us to get the plugin to work. Your plugin needs to have a direct line of communication to easywebinar servers at all times.

Secondly, everyone's wordpress will be different as it suit our business needs. Various or too many plugins will conflict, ones that have been noted are caching andsecurity or malware plugins as well as any that manipulate javascript. Even complex themes like genesis or Ithemes can do it too. You need security and speed with caching and you want it pleasant looking with your complex them.

Download plugin from your my account tab and copy key code:

So we suggest that you create a sub domain and name it what you wish but for this example I will call it events so the url structure will now be http://events.mydomain.com..

Get wordpress installed onto that subdomain and once created delete any tag along plugins from the plugin folder. No themes added as we select the templates when creating an event inside easywebinar.

Make sure all plugins are deactivated and deleted in this new sub domain. Then click on add new. Then click on Upload plugin and choose the plugin zip folder you downloaded from easywebinar..

Once you selected the zip folder and the upload was a success.

  1. You can select both plugin and widget both

  2. Select activate from dropdown menu

  3. Click apply

Now that it is now been activated click on #1 Settings > General and then #2 select your timezone and click save changes.

Now you can go to Settings > Permalinks set permailnks to postname click save changes.

Now that plugin and widget is activated and settings are in place click on the easywebinar to add in the activation key code

Now There you have a Nice clean barebones wordpress installation for your events platform.

Now when you log into your account at https://app.easywebinar.com you can now see your domain name added to the domains dropdown and can select it to create an event onto it..

Remember:

Once you create an event on this domain and click save and publish or just save.. All the info is and will be stored within the database of the wordpress site the plugin is on. Easywebinar does not store any of the information / content..
